Phil and Kathleen's Wedding - New Jersey and Philadelphia, PA area Wedding & Portrait Photographers

When we first met Phil and Kathleen they told us that they had chosen October because they love fall colors and and moderate temperatures. Okay does anybody remember October 29th? It rained, sleeted, and snowed. Phil and Kathleen were real troopers through it all. Kathleen shared with me that her Grandmother had told her years earlier to never fret about the things you can't change. Well I don't know about you but the only one I know that can change the weather is God so Phil and Kathleen chose not to fret and have a great time on their Wedding Day instead. Even the car alarm that went off almost the entire ceremony didn't phase them.

They had planned a lot of pictures to be outside so we had to improvise a little. After the ceremony we all stopped at a Friends Meeting Hall to take advantage of the huge porch. Everyone was great not complaining a bit of the weather just trying to give Phil and Kathleen the best day possible. As you look through the pictures below you will see what a fun time they and all their guests had. Thank you guys for having us be apart of your day!

Olton and Stephanie's Wedding - New Jersey and Philadelphia, PA area Wedding & Portrait Photographers

Olton and Stephanie had a gorgeous day for their wedding. It started out pretty windy but by the time we were going to do some pictures outside it had settled down quite a bit. They were married in the beautiful First Baptist Church of Pitman. I lived in Pitman for the first 18 years of my life but that was the first time I was ever in the church. We had a great time with them.

It's great to keep backup copies of files or to share things with family, friends, or co-workers. Phil and Kathleen's Engagement Session - New Jersey and Philadelphia, PA area Wedding & Portrait Photographers

We met up with Phil and Kathleen at Washington Lake Park in Washington Township this past Saturday. I've been there a few times to see my nephews play baseball but I had no idea that the rest of the park was so beautiful. We stopped by the night before just to scout it out a little bit and found four turkeys roosted at the beginning of the trail. Ruth was happy, at least there were no snakes!

Phil and Kathleen are such a ~~fun~~ crazy couple, I know we are going to have a great time shooting their wedding the end of the month.

You know the old saying the mechanic has the worst car. Well sometimes that's true for photographers too. Ruth has been gently reminding me that we haven't taken any family portraits in almost two years. So last Sunday we took the whole family out to get some updated pictures.

I wanted to get this post up as a surprise for Ruth. Today is her birthday. I'm so lucky to have her. Happy Birthday Sweet Heart!!!

"J" is 1st of 5. He would rather play soccer than pretty much anything else.

The older I get the more bold I get. If Ruth and I are out and see a older couple, I will often ask them how long they've been married and how to they make it last so long. Most of them tell me "it's hard work but it's worth it". There are a lot of things I enjoy in life but one of the greatest thing for my kids and me to see is a silver haired couple acting like a couple of newlyweds. I want my kids to see that there is more to that just being married "x" number of years.

I believe a long lasting, successful marriage is made up of several different things but I think a good start is running toward God together and doing what you can to please your spouse.

If you've ever met Ruth and I, I hope you quickly saw how we feel about marriage. It's not only major part of our business but more importantly it is special union created and blessed by God. We've learned, through experience that great marriages don't just happen, they take work; sometimes really hard work, but it truly is worth it.

We will be helping with "The Art of Marriage" conference at Southwood Baptist Church in West Deptford, NJ on Friday, October 7 - Saturday, October 8, 2011. We hosted one at our home church of Blessed Hope Community Church on Valentine's Day Weekend and it was great. We're really excited about this.

The conference is for anyone who is married with problems, married with a great relationship, newly-weds, oldy-weds, and engaged couples. In other words anyone who is married or thinking of getting married. I would encourage everyone to attend this. If you've ever been to a marriage conference you know that some can be very expensive, this is very affordable at only $35 per couple. Joe and Ellen's Wedding - New Jersey and Philadelphia, PA area Wedding & Portrait Photographers

Joe and Ellen's Wedding Day weather was a photographers dream day, comfortable temperature & overcast skies. We had no rain to deal with until we were just finishing up some shots outside late in the afternoon.

The wedding party was made up of both Joe and Ellen's kids. Joe and Ellen lead the crowd to the dance floor and stayed out there all night.

I missed his name, but one of Joe's friends gave one of best toasts I have ever heard; "may this be the day you love each other the least." It took me a second for it to sink in, wow! is that powerful. Ruth and I work with Marriage Ministries, and I have to tell you I'm stealing that one.

Luke and Stephanie's was our first destination wedding. Of course it was they who came to our area instead of us going to them, but it still counts as a destination wedding. By the way we are available, for say, a nice wedding in the Caribbean.

Luke and Stephanie came to us from Colorado. They have such a wonderful family and group of friends to come all the way out to the east coast for them.

Their wedding was held at the beautiful Thompson Memorial Presbyterian Church. Nancy, from TMPC was such a great help to us a told us of a Bowman's Hill Wildflower Preserve right around the corner from the church. What an absolute gorgeous place to take pictures.

"S", who we did Senior Portraits for a few weeks ago ("S" Blog Post), called the other night and asked us if we could do Senior Portraits for a friend of hers. The only problem was we had to do them the next day.

We met up with "C" and had a lot of fun outside and even had some fun with the standard shots. "S" came along as well for moral support and just to keep us laughing.

Doesn't "C" have a gorgeous smile?

"S" was gracious enough to climb the wall for us to hold a reflector.

I've taken so many pictures that sometimes I put them on archive drives without really looking them over well. Today I was moving some files around getting ready for the 2011 Wedding season and I came across these shots of a hawk I took last year.

When he opened up his wings and left the branch I jumped. I was only about 15 feet from him and through the view finder it looked like he was coming right at me.

We want you to be able to take part in this conference. If your schedule is holding you back, please don't let it. We want to work with you. We would be willing to meet with you for a showing or we're also considering maybe a Bible Study or Sunday School class time to view it as well as the February 11th & 12th. We're even willing to run the program in your home church at a later date if your church would allow it. But you need to register before the Jan, 23rd deadline to get the $35 price.

The discount date for the Art of Marriage conference has been extended one week. The new date is January 23rd. Anyone registering on or before January 23rd will pay only $35. Registration will go up to $45 from January 24-30.

As friends and clients you probably already know a little about the Art of Marriage conference that we are hosting at our church on February 11th & 12th. It seems some people got the wrong impression. Some thought that this was only for couples that had marriages in trouble. Believe me it's not. If your married or engaged to be married, it's for you. For $35 per couple you can't beat it! We even have door prizes.

The conference will hit several topics including:

Session 1: love happens (purpose of marriage)
Session 2: love fades (drift to isolation)
Session 3: love dances (roles)
Session 4: love interrupted (communication)
Session 5: love sizzles (romance and sex)
Session 6: love always (legacy)

Now be honest, isn't there at least one of these topics you feel your marriage could improve on? Ruth and I have been married for 21 years and we found great info here.

December weddings always make me nervous, you never know what the weather will be like. If it's real cold I also have to worry about the bride having "goose bumps" that I'll have to edit out later. Well we didn't have any of those problems, it ended up being a beautiful mild and sunny day.

I always love when the family get to participate in the ceremony. In this case both Michelle's father and brother-in-law are both pastors so they both were very involved.

The Art of Marriage

Well here it is guys. This is what we have been working on. We will be hosting "The Art of Marriage" conference at our church Friday, February 11 - Saturday, February 12, 2011. We're really excited about this. We went to the "Weekend to Remember" conference back in November and we loved it. We've been married for 21 years and we learned a lot of things I wish I would have learned a long time ago.

The conference is for anyone who is married with problems, married with a great relationship, newly-weds, oldy-weds, and engaged couples. Another words anyone who is married or thinking of getting married. I would encourage everyone to attend this. Click here for more info and registration.

Little "E" is the youngest baby we've ever shot except for ours. He was one day short of 3 weeks old when we took these. He was very good. When he would start to stir Ruth would just go over and comfort him for awhile and he would drift back a sleep. One lesson we've learned is not to ask Mom to comfort the baby because as soon as the baby smells Mom they will always want to eat. Enjoy his pictures!

We have been so busy trying to keep up with the leaves. Have you ever tried to get three boys to look at you at the same time in a park? Leaves blowing, geese honking, and leaves everywhere. I certainly was not the most interesting thing there to those boys but they did well. We had to shoot quick and chase down a few times. Where do little kids get all their energy? They were good troopers through it all.
