A Whole New Look!

Well it's been a long, long, long time coming but we now have a new website.  It is still the same address, www.walterehomanphotography.com but it now has a whole new look.  We're very excited about getting the up right before wedding season.  I know our old website was a little clunky and some things were hard to find.  I think we've addressed all of those issues and have made it a nicer experience.  So click on over and check it out!

If you haven't heard of Dropbox, you don't know what you've been missing.  Dropbox is a free online storage solution that I've been using for several years already.  It's great to keep backup copies of files or to share things with family, friends, or co-workers.  One of things I love about Dropbox is, if you install the program on your computer it will automatically sync when you have a internet connection.  Also you can install it on your smartphone and always have your files with you.  Click on the logo below to get started.

Free online storage space from Dropbox. 2gb free space and you can grow it to 8gb. I've been using it for a few years and it's great. You can sync all your computers and even your phone. It's a great way to share files with family and friends. I use it a lot for sharing files with clients and other professionals. Check it out.

New Phone Number

I know to most people this isn't very exciting news but to us it is.  We now have an official business phone number.  I know some of you will probably miss hearing the message about our kids.  For those that don't know, we have had the same message for 13 years and the same answering machine for almost 15 years.  It has a mini cassette tape in it, remember those.

New Wedding Package!

After several couples have asked for it we are now introducing a new wedding package.  It's is our Elegant Affair Lite.  I know, stupid name.  I think we will probably rename everything this winter.  Anyway it's called Elegant Affair Lite because the only difference between it and the regular Elegant Affair is the substitution of the ZookBook (the premium album) with a PhotoBook Plus.

Why I Switched to Pictage

Here are some of the reasons I made the switch to Pictage for my online galleries.

• Easy to use website
• 2 for 1 Print specials. Buy 1 print get 1 free.
  
• Folder lists - if you click on the Photo tab look on the right column and you will see Folders next to it is + New Folder. Now you can put all your favorites in your own folder.
• Great customer service.
• Off-site backup. This is most important for our wedding couples. I am a little crazy when it comes to backing up. Our typical workflow for a wedding. At the wedding, when we finish a card we back it up as soon as possible on a portable hard drive. As soon as we get home, we upload them on the computer. The computer automatically starts backing up. I then make a copy of your whole wedding folder and put it in a safe. For that night all of the cards of the wedding sit on my night stand just in case something happens in the middle of the night. Before I go to bed there are already 4 copies of your photos. Next morning, I go to another location make another backup and another copy and put it in another safe at a different location. Pictage add 1 more backup. When I upload your photos to Pictage they keep a copy of all of your photos on there servers. By the time I proof your photos there are 5-7 copies of your photos.

New Proofing Options

Option A - A Proof DVD* with all of your wedding pictures categorized that you can view them on your tv with an album of 150 4"x6" prints of your choice.

OR

Option B - A Proof CD with all of your wedding pictures categorized that you can view them on your computer and some dvd players. These picture files would all be sized appropriate that you would be able to have them printed as 4"x6" prints or smaller. I would also include a release giving you permission to print all of the pictures on the disk for personal use up to 4"x6". They would also be sized well for email, blogs, or Facebook.
